A marriage where both spouses are fully committed to the Lord will be beautiful showcases of the fruits of the Spirit! The Bible is full of commands and instruction about love and how to love. The way we love our spouses should show God’s love better than in any other relationship.

You know, probably my inability to just let things go. I prayed about this during my women’s retreat this weekend. Things get snarky and I wonder why. I realize I am fully half of this problem. I know he doesn’t always think before speaking, but I don’t have to go toe-to-toe over each comment. I can’t simply explain why the comment hurt me and let him consider it from there.
OOH don’t we all have to bite our tongues sometimes?? Here are some Scriptures… Let’s choose one to memorize and when a comment starts bubbling up, default to the Scripture!

What’s the biggest obstacle that prevents me from practicing agape love consistently? I take my eyes off of how God sees my husband, and become caught up in my own view.
I love this question, Auntie Em. It really forces me to engage with a meaningful consideration for my marriage and life. I guess I’d say, my inability to see my own sin–usually pride or fear–prevents me from expressing agape love. Thankfully God doesn’t let me get off the hook that easily and continually convicts me of my sin. Thanks for the prompt!
